The Big "C" Book Project

Introduction
My name is Robb Koscho and I am the owner of A.E. Photography based out of Lorain, Ohio. I am currently in the starting stages of a very large photography project, a photography book. This book touches some very emotional places, as it is a pictorial book about Cancer.

As tough as an issue it is, as devastating as how life threatening it is, it is a difficult issue to deal with. My goal is to not glorify or beautify Cancer, but to remember how beautiful one is. Sometimes seeing how beautiful one is, is enough to lift up their spirits, even if for one day.

Proceeds of this book will go to American Association of Cancer Research.

About the Book
The title of this book came about from an episode of "The Cosby Show". Theo's friend was in the hospital with Cancer and Theo was having a hard time dealing with it. When he went to go see his friend in the Hospital, Theo was really nervous and having trouble talking. Theo's friend told him to relax and everything was ok. So Theo finally said "so, how's the big 'C'"?

About 6 months after my father, who was my best friend, passed away I was eating in a restaurant by myself. I saw a lady that I knew, who was going through chemo, walked in. She looked so beautiful in that lighting. That's when the Big "C" book was born.

It has taken almost 7 years of planning, developing and just laying a blue print for what I want to achieve. As with all art projects, I have a vision and a direction, but not necessarily a destination. Art projects of this magnitude take on their own life and take many avenues to finish.

Most of the photographs will be in black and white, but that doesn?t mean that that will stay true through the entire book.

I currently have the book broken down into the following sections:

~*~ Care/Treatment
~*~ Patients
~*~ Survivors
~*~ Families dealing with Loss
~*~ Celeberaties (this is a long shot, but I would love to have their support)

To Be a Part of "The Big C"
I of all people understand that this is a sensitive issue to talk about, and the utmost discretion will be used. There is no cookie cutter format for how this book is going to go. Every photograph will be as unique as the person being photographed.

Some ideas I had in mind where if you are a survivor, and have hobbies that you pursue like biking, we could photograph you on your bike. We will photography any ideas that you may have as well.

If you, or someone you know wants to be a part of this, contact me at bigc@aephotography.net for more information or to refer someone to me. I also ask that you fill out the enclosed model release form, and mail to me at :
